How You Can Prepare to Apply for Independent Restaurant and Bar Grants Once They are Made Available
A $28.6 billion restaurant and bar grant program will be made available soon. Members of the Independent Restaurant Coalition partnered with members of Congress to craft the legislation. While the Small Business Administration prepares to stand up the program, businesses should take steps to organize the materials necessary to submit an application once it is available. Below is a bit of information about the program, and what businesses can do to prepare for the application:
Rally For Restaurants
Rally for Restaurants is a grassroots movement built from a need to support the restaurant industry through an incredibly uncertain time. Rally for Restaurants is asking consumers to simply buy a gift card to their favorite restaurant.
Staying Connected with Your Customers
Delivery and other services are available to make transactions safe and easy, helping shoppers to get food and products they need. Restaurants and food delivery services are also able to provide non-contact deliveries, leaving the food at the front door for the recipient.
Register your restaurant with delivery services. Do keep in mind that many take a percentage of your sales or are deferring that percentage until after COVID-19:
Tock To Go (low fees)
Nextdoor for Local Business
Nextdoor is the neighborhood hub for connecting and exchanging information, goods, and services locally. It's where neighbors go to stay informed, plan get-togethers, and help each other in their everyday lives.
Whether it’s looking for a local plumber or babysitter, members come to Nextdoor for trusted recommendations because they know everyone in the neighborhood is verified, ensuring a private and trusted platform.
Buy a gift card now, use it later, and help save a local business (or two).
Support Local is an initiative that lets you show your support for your local businesses during this challenging time. The platform is built by Gannett, a news media company that includes USA TODAY and hundreds of local media brands.
