Staying Connected with Your Customers
We recognize the quickly changing environment caused by COVID-19. As we navigate each new passing day, we’d like to offer you ideas and suggestions we've seen that can help spark different ways of doing business.
Above all, we encourage you to have empathy and sensitivity. In essence, this includes carefully considering all of your social media posts and email communications and how they might be received amid this crisis. It is an excellent time to tone down your messaging and keep things simple.
Be sure to utilize your customer email list to provide timely, smart ideas on how to stay safe during COVID-19. If you can provide shipping, pick up, or delivery options to your customers, let them know. Include educational ideas, such as recipes and crafts that people or their families can do at home.

Rally for Restaurants is a grassroots movement built from a need to support the restaurant industry through an incredibly uncertain time. Rally for Restaurants is asking consumers to simply buy a gift card to their favorite restaurant.
Social Distancing, Made Easier.
Delivery and other services are available to make transactions safe and easy, helping shoppers to get food and products they need. Restaurants and food delivery services are also able to provide non-contact deliveries, leaving the food at the front door for the recipient.
Register your restaurant with delivery services. Do keep in mind that many take a percentage of your sales or are deferring that percentage until after COVID-19:
Businesses and restaurants are using their storefronts to offer supplies, toilet paper, packaged foods, and other pantry staples. Consider this route as an option if you have a surplus of supplies or access to additional supplies.
Consider senior hours, like many grocers have done, to allow seniors to do their shopping before the general public and when stores are freshly cleaned.

Google announced a new $800+ million commitment to support small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), health organizations and governments, and health workers on the frontline of this global pandemic.

Facebook Small Business Grants Program
Yelp has announced $25 million in relief, primarily focused on supporting small independently-owned, local restaurant and nightlife businesses, in the form of waived advertising fees and free advertising, products, and services during the COVID-19 crisis.
- Yelp is waiving charges for Yelp Ads in the second half of March for restaurants and bars with active ad campaigns
- Free $100 ad campaign to restaurants that indicate they offer delivery or take-out in the month of April (current advertisers only, must set up by March 31)
- The business highlights, call to action, and Yelp Connect features will be offered free of charge through March and April for all bars and restaurants (requires setup)
- Yelp Reservations and Yelp Waitlist are both free for 3 months
