Cassie Young is Vice President of Property Accounting for Regency Centers.
Cassie provides oversight and accountability for activities performed in the Property Accounting team relating to the assigned portfolio of properties and centralized processes. She conducts a monthly review of the portfolio to ensure accounting is in accordance with GAAP, maintains our internal control framework, ensures the accuracy of our financial reporting, and manages process consistency and standardization across all properties.
She is also responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring a large Property Accounting team, helping build a pipeline of future leaders by enhancing team dynamics and employee engagement.
Cassie began her Regency career as a Senior Manager - Property Controller, managing the day-to-day and period-end accounting and accounts receivable reporting and reserves, ensuring coordination between all involved parties. She was then promoted to Director of Property Accounting before taking on her current role.
She began her career working for the YMCA before moving on to Fidelity National Financial, where she was involved in many aspects of accounting, including her work for a non-profit called Folded Flag Foundation.
Cassie is proud to call Jacksonville her home, spending most of her life in the area and receiving a Bachelor's and Master's in Accounting from the University of North Florida. She serves on the advisory board for the Winston YMCA, giving back her time, talent, and treasure to help impact the Jacksonville community for the better. She is a member of ULI, having previously served on the Young Leaders committee and participating in Urban Plan. She is a faithful supporter of Habijax and participates in builds each year.
At home, Cassie and her husband, Brian, a US Navy pilot, stay busy with two young boys and a daughter on the way. Family activities center on the outdoors, usually playgrounds, bike rides, pools, or grilling something on the Big Green Egg.
