Barry Argalas

Managing Director, Transactions, Jacksonville Office

Barry is Managing Director of Transactions, overseeing Regency's national acquisition and disposition activity and identifying and executing larger strategic portfolio transactions.


During his time at Regency, Barry transacted over $5B of dispositions and acquisitions of nearly $10B. He is a key contributor in strategic M&A activity, including the:

  • $400M acquisition of Branch Properties in 2004
  • $2.74B acquisition of the First Washington and Calpers portfolio with Macquarie CountryWide Trust in 2005
  • $4.6B merger with Equity One in 2017

He began his career with Regency in 1996 as a Financial Analyst, underwriting acquisitions and developments, and later relocating to Dallas as a Senior Analyst. As a Development Manager in the Tampa office in 2000, Barry targeted grocery-anchored sites for ground-up developments before becoming a Senior Transactions Manager in Jacksonville, executing disposition strategies. In 2003 he became Vice President of Acquisitions and Dispositions for the east coast and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2007. 

Barry received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University. 

He is an active member of Christian Family Chapel. Barry is also a strong supporter of the United Way and serves on the Executive Committee for the Family Support Services of Northeast Florida. Family Support Services is the lead agency for foster care, adoption, and family preservation in Northeast Florida, providing services and programs to help prevent child neglect and promote a healthy family environment.

Barry, his wife Becky, and their daughter Savannah enjoy an active lifestyle that includes traveling, running, biking, tennis, pickleball, and cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
